Default Moving to Lexington Park, MD...Few questions

I'm moving to Lexington Park/California MD in August. With my new job in California, MD. I'm planning to rent an apartment or a townhouse. My main concern is safety. Where is a good and safe location to live? I would like to live in a neighborhood with a low crime rate. Perhaps townhouse in Solomon's Island? or Hickory Hills Townhouse? I've also heard good things about Abberly Crest Apartment. I'm willing to pay extra to live in safe environment. So...PLEASE HELP!!! Can anyone tell me more about Lexington Park and California area? Bars? Night life? Crime? People?

Hickory Hills is a good neigborhood, to access the neighorhood is on a heavily conjested two lane road but you can rent a private house with acre of land for the same price of a townhome. I would recomend lusby or solomons over Lexington Par, but if you're go to working in Lexington Park Area not such a good choice because the bridge from lexington park to solomons is conjested during peak hours and can take you long time to get home. So Check out California, Dameron, Callaway, and Park Hall, md. Check out somd.com

We live in California, Wildewood area. It's very quiet and safe. My hubby work in Lexi and it's not a bad drive at all. Stay away from St Mary City area. Anywhere above Chancellor run rd will be fine.
