Help with Woodlawn area
My husband is considering a job in Woodlawn. We know nothing about this area, we're from GA. What's the best area to live in for ease of transportation and a walkfriendly area close to shopping, restaurants etc. We would really prefer a condo, just the 2 of us. Also need good accessibility as my husband uses a wheelchair. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming that your talking about the Woodlawn in Baltimore County. The area known as Woodlawn is not very nice. However, the communities of Catonsville, Ellicott City, and Columbia are quite nice, parts of them are very walkable, and they are close to Woodlawn.

I would definitely consider Ellicott City & Columbia. Ellicott City would put you a little closer to Woodlawn... they have some top notch schools and shopping & kids activities are centrally located. Good luck with your search!

I would say the rolling road area. Condo, walking distance to the shopping center, market, gas station, post office, walgreens and take out if you want. they have an outdoor pool with a lovely pool house. Check out Rolling Wind and Bristol Park condo's.

Definitely DO NOT move into apartments like the one across from the mall. They are bad.

Stay away from Woodlawn or anywhere north of Route 40. The other areas mentioned above are all nice, but Ellicott City and Columbia are in Howard County, Catonsville is closer and in Baltimore county (check county tax rates).

Howard Co is nice but their tax rate almost double compared to Baltimore county....stay in Baltimore County.
