Smile Why would you move to Bethesda, MD

I know nothing about Bethesda, and was wondering why you would move there or consider living there long term. What are the ups and downs of living there? Is it one of the nicer suburbs of DC? Does it cost less? If you could tell me a bit about that it would be very helpful.

Bethesda is BEAUTIFUL if you are made of money. It is very expensive there, but if you can afford it you'd love it. Plus you'd be surrounded by people who earn at the same level as you.

I live in Bethesda with a roommate. It's a posh area with hardly any crime, easy access to the Metro and DC, and a nice downtown.

The only downside as other have mentioned is the cost. Expect to pay $1600-$1700 for a one bedroom.

As mentioned, it is pricey, but IMO, the benefits outweight the costs. You have easy access to DC via Metro, a nice selection of upscale restaurants, galleries, shopping, theaters and a clean, safe community. There is also an Apple store there. If I ever move back to the area, Bethesda would be at the top of my list for sure.

It's also one of the few suburbs where one could go car-free as well.

Bethesda is pricey but it is gorgeous, safe, upscale, and urban. Near the metro you can walk to everywhere and there are tons of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. I love working there.
