But what I have noticed from this state is that lower-income minorities (specifically blacks and Latinos) seem to be more prevalent than educated and affluent black and Hispanics, giving whites and Asians of MD a "good excuse" to hate and avoid blacks and Latinos (this is pretty much the norm in UMD). The only exception where I see professional underrepresented minorities integrating well with other races is in Columbia and most of MoCo.

There are no plausible excuses for racial hate. There are reasons for racial hate which boil down to one thing: racism. Simple and plain. In my experience lower-income people live near other lower-income people and if that situation is undesirable maybe just maybe that someone should increase their financial situation. In this day and age with the obvious financial advancements of blacks and latinos how can anyone be under the assumption that well to do minorities are a rarity?
Lets look at the numbers:
According to the 2000 Census, US population is approximately 280 million.
Blacks only make up 12% or in the neighborhood of 34million
Whites make up some 75% or 210 million.
Follow me?...now based on the poverty statistics 20% of blacks live under the poverty line at some point, while for our white brothers and sisters it's 10%.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but according to my calculations isn't 20% of 34 million alot less than 10% of 210 million?
.....but we all know racism and hatred aren't based on facts, they're based on ignorance and lack of self-confidence.

When I was saying "a good excuse," I was describing sarcasm on my part. I realize that there's no real excuse for racism.

Blacks no longer suffer racism in PG county. Blacks make up the majority and have most if not all the political power. This is why it is such a desirable area for blacks.

I feel comfortable in Pg county. I love the fact that my son can look out the window and see nothing but successful AA in our community. My son is see nothing but positive, educated Blacks with 2 parent house hold is a very good thing for my son to see and know. i think black youths growing up is getting lost in the world because they hear all these negative news in the media about blacks and nothing positive. I know when my son gets older and if someone mention to him there are no positive Black males I know for sure my son have plenty of examples such as his dad, family members, and community leaders,All of our neighbors. I love the fact that my son see positive AA males each and everyday and we donot have to leave our community he can just look out the window.

story of Mr. Shabazz
You can also turn him onto Alex Haley's first assignment as a writer for Playboy magazine. It was quite a piece of work that I still pick up and read.

I honestly hope you dont really believe this....
Racism and its vestiges are apparent all throughout PG county. Look at the retail offerings vs. income, police department, and most of all, the school system. It is even echoed time and time again through the sentiments seen on this board. Blacks in PG county face the same delimna as blacks anywhere else in this country. It is just better masked by the seemingly large number of well-to-do, 'sucessful' blacks (who have made it a bad habit of keeping to themselves).
And yes their are alot of blacks that hold positions at the county level, but that can only go so far. And most of those are part of the 'black elite', who are far more concerned with the economic progression of that county rather than the social. I would hardly go as far as to say that blacks have 'most if not all political power'.

LOL. Sometimes bullying makes people feel better about themselves.
Anyway, this issue or race and crime is old. We need to stop blaming each other race and blame the media we are blasted with everyday filling people of all races with hateful, stereotypical ideas. Just think if it weren't for the media playing the race card, whether it be the news, music, movies, the Internet...then no one would have any thing to back up their ridiculous misinformation with. But hey we can't do anything about it, it is just the way of the US.
The way I see it is that none of us own this place or the world. What differnece does it make? There were people here before the English started slaughtering the Natives. There were Asians here before them, and it was Nomads before them, cave people, and then Dinosaurs. Please save me " this is the white man's land speech." Get over it, you are not the only race color of people on this earth and will never never ever be.

more requests
Also please let me know the race of the States Attorney of PG county and could you let me know if the county council is predominantly black?
Also do the retail businesses hold guns to peoples heads in PG county
(80%+ black) and make them allow the stores to be built. Finally are all successful blacks in PG county Toms for the hidden white rulers of the county?
