Default Baltimore metro from Owings Mills to Shot Tower

I have never used the Baltimore metro, but want to try it rather than drive downtown for my son's medical appointments. Is it safe? Can you carry strollers on board? Are the departure and arrival times listed on the Maryland Transportation Authority schedules pretty accurate or do they vary a lot? Is there plenty of parking in the Owings Mills lot after the morning rush hour? Thanks.

I work at 31 Hopkins Plaza, which is where you would exit. I don't take the Baltimore Metro, but I can tell you that that particular stop smells like urine 24/7 and that there are many homeless people in and around the plaza. I've never had any problems but do get tired od smelling urine and being asked for money all the time.

Last fall I would take the Metro everyday from the Milford Mill Metro station to Shot Tower. During the day the system is very well used and plenty safe. Once I even took the Metro at 6:30 AM on a Saturday and was surprised at the amount of people I saw on it. There is plenty of free parking available at the Owings Mills stop after Rush Hour. Strollers are allowed on Metro. Even when the Metro gets really crowded during Rush Hour, there will probably be room for a stroller. As for the schedules, with regards to the Metro, I'd say that the trains run often enough that you don't need to bother much to look at the schedules. In a worst case scenario, you'd be looking at a 15 minute wait. MJ2MDdude also has his stops mixed up. The stop he is thinking of is Charles Center, which is the one before Shot Tower. As for the homeless people and urine smells, you'll probably run into that even if you do take your car.
