Possibly moving to annapolis Md. need info.
Could someone please tell me what area would be good for young children? I would like to try public school if possible, but I'm not getting good info about the schools so far. We have our boys in private school here in GA, and I would do private if nessasary. I'm really picky when it comes to school so it would have to be a fantastic system. Thanks!

What age are your children? Anne Arundel County has some excellent schools, both private as well as public. Broadneck Elementary was just awarded one of the best schools in the country awards! St. James Francis located in Riviera Beach, MD is an excellent private school but VERY pricey.

Broadneck is located in Arnold, MD which is between Annapolis and Severna Park. If you google search Broadneck Elementary School it will bring their website up.

We live in Severna Park and the schools here are EXCELLENT. We're moving (not by choice, my husband was transferred), but we've loved this area and have found the people to be very friendly. We've only been here two and a half years but found it very easy to make friends. If I were moving here, my first choice would be Severna Park and a close second would be Arnold. Pasadena is okay but the schools aren't as good. If you've got the money and want some land to go with your house, Davidsonville has excellent schools also.
Good luck!

Any schools in Severna Park or Arnold are excellent. I agree with Pasadena being ok, they are always in transition, never sure what you are going to get from year to year. I am going to say this though, there is a section in Severna Park(after you cross over Rt2) that those houses go to Pasadena schools.

Yes, I think* (and don't quote me on it) but I think that as soon as you reach East West Blvd/West Pasadena Road it turns to Pasadena school systems? I grew up in Pasadena....my parents still live in Pasadena....and I attended Northeast High School in Pasadena. Not a "great" school but not a "bad" school either. Northeast and Chesapeake have a lot of issues with drugs. Severna Park High School USED to have issues with drugs but it seems to have phased out quite a bit.
