Default Maryland Foliage

What are those bushes in Maryland that are really bright red this time of the year? Somebody told me they were either scarlet or fire bushes but I looked up "scarlet bushes" and "fire bushes" on the internet and those are definitely not what I've seen. Please help. Oh, if it helps, I live in Howard County. Thanks!

They are most likely Burning Bushes, which I had in my backyard in MD and also in OH...normal green in summer, but if planted in full sun, gorgeous red in fall! Here is a pic I found on the net...hope this helps!

Burning Bush

That's it. Thanks so much! Boo hoo, I think my yard is too shaded for them.

If you have a spot that gets even partial shade, I would go for it! Mine was in my backyard, right next to a 6 foot privacy fence, and I'm not sure it ever got sun all the way to the ground, but it sure was gorgeous! Grows pretty quick too...in 2 years it was as high as my fence! I only pruned it for shape, not height.
