I grew up in Greenbelt (dreaded PG County). I spent many years in Laurel.

Like anywhere, there is good and there is the the not so good. Go into this with an open mind and you will find what is right for you.

Greenbelt is still safe provided you live in Old Greenbelt. Springhill Lake and all of Greenbelt Road scares me (and I used to live in downtown Baltimore!). It's also a bit more affordable.

Spring Hill Lake was scary in the 1970's!

Yup, and my parents refused to let me or my little brother go there. However, 1970's scary is not even close to 2000's scary. The News Review spills a lot of ink (for a tiny paper) in the police blotter just covering Cherrywood RD (though Mandan RD and the area formerly known as Green Briar is pickin' up a lot of coverage).
