Actually no...I don't know how much more clear I can be.

And so by saying that Bowie is "not affluent affluent relative to affluent areas in other counties," one can deduce that it is not as affluent as Bethesda, etc. I agree, and I don't think what I said undercuts your points, that in PG county it is "affluent" relative to other areas in the county, and that Bowie does not approach the affluence of Chevy Chase, Bethesda, etc.

Bowie is Affulent if you compare it to other area in Maryland and Nationwide. For an area to be majority Black and the median income is well over 100K that is good.
Those who do not think Bowie is Affulent I bet they make less then the Median income which is 100k Per household.

Well yeah, and if you compare a kid working in McDonald's to a homeless man, then that kid is affluent also, but that's not the point.
The point is that when you look at the WMA area, and you compare areas of affluence in PG vs. MC (Potomac, Bethesda, & CC) vs. FFX Cty (McLean & Great Falls), Bowie is doing well, but is nowhere near what those affluent areas average.
Also, here's a scary thing. Check all the links below and compare the median value of the homes in those zip codes.
Bowie has a median value of homes in the high $300's to mid $400's. All the other areas in other counties have a median home value in the $1-2 million.
That means the demand for homes/investment in a Bowie home isn't worth as much relatively speaking.
Here's Bowie:

Here's McLean:

Here's Great Falls:

Here's Potomac:

Here's Bethesda:

Here's Chevy Chase:

The OP may want to consider which county has the most solid economic viability moving forward in the current economic environment. Which county is best able to maintain the level of service currently being enjoyed or was enjoyed recently. Especially schools!

Generally speaking, that would be where the housing is the most expensive. That usually indicates where the best schools, best services, best governance, proximity to jobs, lowest crime, best retail options, etc. are located.
Homes would not hold their value if the demand wasn't there.

Just wondering. If PG is so affluent why do they need so much Thornton money for the schools? Where does PG rank in per capita poverty compared to other Maryland counties and Northern Virginia? Is there affluence reasonably distributed or are there enclaves of wealth or poverty and if so which is larger?

Well there goes PG off their list if they follow your advice!
