Maryland State Troopers
Is anyone else absolutely tired of the state troopers? I dont know how many times they fly past me going 80mph, and then not only that they are off duty with there family in the car I PAY FOR! but yet they will pull joe blow the hard worker over for going 66 mph the next day at 630am. It aggravates me so much! Its not like they are out breaking up drug runs on rt 95...they are out hiding behind a tree at 6am pulling over hard workers and truck drivers. It is just another classic example of WAY TOO much govt. Just to think that we as average citizens pay there salary to treat us the way they do.
and you know it must really get bad when people from other states are talking about them...I was reading about a guy from LIBERAL california who was pulling a trailer through maryland and he got stopped, and he didnt have all the specific things the trailer needed so he got a huge fine. Its sad when someone from a state as liberal as california with all of there regulations comes to maryland and gets treated like that.

You're complaining because someone was ticketed for breaking the law?

Yeah, it sounds like they are doing their job. I'll agree they speed, but most likely they are on their way somewhere, I would think. I've been lucky not to be pulled over myself, but my FF plates may help with that. Some say it does, some say it doesn't. As long as they leave me alone, I don't care what they do!

I can understand your frustration, but wouldn't it make more sense to call the barracks or dispatch and file a complaint rather than complain on some anonymous forum which is far less likely to institute change?
I agree that it's frustrating to see cruisers blatantly breaking the law, but I have no sympathy for people complaining about the heavy fines. for truck drivers, they are responsible for carrying proper documentation, and all of those heavy fines go towards helping balance the state budget.
If I have a choice between a bigger state budget deficit or higher fines for traffic scofflaws, I'll take the fines, thanks.

because this is an open forum and i know many agree with me because i have talked to them about it. I just wanted to see if others on here see where I am coming from, and if it bothers them as well.

I've had them blow up behind me so quickly and so close that I thought I was about to be stopped, even though I wasn't speeding because I was slowing down to get on an exit ramp. In fact, he was so close to my bumper that I pulled over anyway in case I was being stopped. He gave new meaning to the word tailgating. They had no lights or siren on so they weren't 'on their way' to an important call. The guy was simply impatient on his way home and I was in the way.

That, most of us probably agree with. It's the second part of your post that I didn't get.

I agree with you. At one point, when my children were very young, it seemed as if I was getting pulled over for something at least every other month. My kids asked me was I a bad person.
