Default Hotels in Silver Spring/Takoma Park/College Park area

Hello! I've registered for the Cherry Blossom run in April and am in need of a hotel on the MD side. I was planning to stay with a friend in Takoma Park but am bringing my family now so we will need to get a room. I'd still like to stay closeby so that we can metro down together on the morning of the race, and she recommended finding a place in Silver Spring or College Park, but hasn't lived there very long so didn't have any specific recommendations. From my searching, downtown Silver Spring seems kind of expensive (I'd prefer to stay under $120/night) and we'd have to pay for parking as well. Can anyone recommend a reasonable, clean hotel in a safe area? Thanks!

Hotels in College Park usually have plenty of parking. However, none of them are really close to the Metro station.

It'd probably be easier to check out Tripadvisor or hotels.com for reviews.

You can check out the motels (Motel 8, etc.) along Rt 1 in College Park by the University as well. This way, you can park at the College Park metro station and just take the Metro into DC for the run.

I just realized that if the poster is willing to park at the Metro station then College Park would be the place to go. Lots of hotels on Route 1.

You might try the Marriott in Greenbelt. Not sure about the parking situation at the Marriott but I think it would be OK and you would not be far from the Greenbelt Metro station.

THere is also the Sheraton COllege Park (Which is actually in Beltsville) - parking is easy but you would have to drive about 10-15 minutes to the Greenbelt metro station. THere is also a Fairfield Inn across the street -- same parking and driving situation.

There is a Holiday Inn at the Beltway and US Rte. 1 (that might be the Holiday Inn - College Park). That would be a quick drive to Greenbelt Metro station.
