Tell me about Rockville
Just moved to the area and no nothing about it.
I did however notice there is a large Asian population in the area with some good restaurants. Know any good ones?
Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Didn't there used to be Tara Thai on Rockville Pike, in a shopping center with Marshalls, Mikasa and Old Navy? I loved Tara Thai, the only Asian food I could eat when I was pregnant!

Welcome to the area. I have a tendency to go to the smaller places that aren't chains. I like the Vegetable Garden. It is on Rockville Pike about 1.5 miles south of the town center area. I also like Bombay Bistro. Both have good food at reasonable prices. I have heard good things about A & J Restaurant but haven't tried it myself. There is Taipei Tokyo which is also south of the town center. It serves chinese on one side of the restaurant and sushi and other japanese dishes on the other side. I have tried a few of the restaurants in the Town Center. There is a Thai restaurant right by the square. I can't remember the name but was very pleased with my meal.

Still there as far as I know...and yes, it was great!! The only thing I miss about the DC Metro area is the restaurant selection. I was never a fan of chains, and there were tons of excellent restaurants everywhere!

Thought of somewhere else you might enjoy...it's a very small Eithiopian restaurant, on 355 just past Shady Grove Rd. It's called Addis Cafe. It's tiny, maybe 6 tables, and a little reading room in the back. Run by a woman and her family, all very authentic and excellent service.
