Default Possible relocation to St. Mary's City

Greetings,
I am considering an offer of a faculty position at St. Mary's College. I am aware of the school's stellar reputation, but I do have concerns about its locale. I've been looking at real estate web sites and have been unable to locate any homes below $500K. Where do the school's employees live? I haven't yet discussed salary, but my guess is that such real estate is *way* out of reach. How long of a commute might I expect if I can't find anything near the school? Thanks.
