Hi , I wrk in Twinbrook and we are searching for a gud descent townhmes to buy in montgomery county.
Can u plz suggest me sme pretty safe , descent ,affordable school district zones keeping my commuting time in mind.
Is this a right time to buy a house? Advise

The minimum credit score now for a FHA loan is 580 credit score and you can get good interest rates in the 5% with a 580 credit score but you would have to put down 3.5% regardless of your credit score.

5% interest rate with a 580 credit score??? Really?? 580 to 619 is where the low credit scores start. jack that rate a few points.

Right now with the rates as low as they are with a credit score as low as 580 you can get and FHA mortgage at 5% with 2 pts or 5/12% with one point up to 625,000.
There is alot on the market right now. There are many factors to finding something to buy. If you want to stay in the Rockville area there is a wide range of properties. How many bedrooms, amenties, prince range etc will all play a factor in your search.
You also mentioned commuting time but didn't say where you work,

wow  - look how times have changed. When I bought my first home in MD back in 1988 FHA was only up to $170 I think.
So what is considered a jumbo now?
