Fed hill commute to silver spring (train station, station, metro)

Does anyone else commute from federal hill to silver spring? If so do you use public transportation?

I do Fells Point to downtown Silver Spring, driving, which takes 45-60 minutes depending on traffic.. Public transportation is too slow, the only thing you can do is take the marc train to union station then metro back up to silver spring - 1.5 hour minimum RT by the time you drive/walk to the train station. Once the purple line is put in years from now it should be an hour or so commute via marc/metro
