Default Rockville - area feeding into Barnsley, Rock Creek, and Flower Valley Elementaries

Hi all,

I am curious about what people think of the Barnsley, Rock Creek, and Flower Valley Elementary Schools . . . I don't quite understand why you can get way more house for your money in that area. Obviously, the construction is circa 1960s and Rockville HS is not as renowned as Wooton HS, but is Rockville HS really that bad, why the significantly lower prices??

My son went to Rock Creek / Wood Middle School and they were pretty good - my son has learning disabilities and they were right on it. Rockville HS has a pretty bad rep. so does Wheaton & Kennedy. My choice - where my son goes now - is Blake (in Silver Spring 20905) and I hear Sherwood (Olney/Ashton) area is good too. Personally, I like the Olney/Ashton/Brookeville area better than the Aspen Hill/Rockville area. Good luck

You pay alot of money because you feed into good schools. The homes in FLower Valey and Manor Country Club are alot because the neighborhoods are well kept and, again, feed into good schools. Homes will be less around Barnsley Elem. because they are a little older and surrounded by apartments, but they are all nice safe areas to live. We lived in Flower Valley for 12 years before moving to Charlottte, NC. I LOVED living there. If you can afford it, I say go for it. The schools and neighbors were great! My son went to Barnsley as well as Flower Valley.
