Default Moving to Towson area - help!

Hi,

My family and I will be relocating to the Towson area for work. We are unfamiliar with the area and are looking for suggestions as what to which towns to move to. We have a small child and are looking for a very safe neighborhood with good schools, children's activties, preferably a white collar town, away from the college crowds. We'd prefer to have an away from the city feel.

We would like a minimal commute to Towson but realize that may not be possible. But all recommendations would be very helpful and appreciated.

Thanks!

Towson is one of the more desirable areas in the Baltimore region. So I don't think you should have any trouble finding a place to live near where you work. Take a look at Stoneleigh, Rogers Forge, Ruxton, Riderwood, Anneslie, Brooklandville, and Lutherville. You may also want to take a look at the Roland Park area inside the city (though you'll probably want to send your kids to private school if you choose the city).

You should look more north Like Timonium, Cockeysville and Hunt Valley, as they will have a less urban feel than the places listed above. The drive to Towson will still be easy. If you go past Hunt Valley you get more backups on 83 since it goes from 3 lanes to 2 lanes.
