Need GOOD Catholic school in Frederick/Rockville area
We recently moved to Maryland with husband working in Rockville. We are living in Frederick with our child going to catholic elementary school in Frederick. I have been greatly disappointed with the school thus far. I was hoping someone could tell me which catholic elementary schools are the best academically and also for the Catholic faith? We are not against relocation if needed to get a better school.

Hmm..my neighbors kids go to Mary of Nazareth in Darnestown. Here...
Mary of Nazareth Catholic School
Now, me personally don't think its all that.
I can tell you of some decent Christian schools though.

I'm curious...why are you not satisfied with the school? I assume you're talking about St. John's?

Good Counsel in Olney (formerly off Georgia Avenue in Wheaton) has been around forever - relocated to its new campus within the last couple years. I hear it has a great reputation academically - I am not Catholic so I know nothing about its strengths or weaknesses on the religious side of the school.

There is a "catholic" school called Mother of God in Gaithersburg. I'm not sure if it is officially recognized by the catholic church, but mostly Catholics send their kids there. I do not know if it is good or not...I know people of both opinions who sent their kids there.

Good Counsel I believe is a very good school. Is Georgetown Prep Catholic? That is probably a great choice as well. Gonzaga is OK, i think less expensive

Hey everyone...the OP is asking about elementary schools, not high schools!

St. John's used to have a Catholic elementary downtown on 2nd St. I believe they built a brand new school on Thomas Johnson Dr. and all the students go there now(?). From what I've heard it's supposed to be pretty nice, state-of-the-art, etc.
