Default Maryland- Any Jobs in Human Resource Field?

Does anyone know if Maryland has a good amount of HR jobs for recent Master degree grad? I am looking to relocate from upstate NY were hr jobs are very rare. Also what companies or government agencies should I look for when searching? The area I would like to live and work in would be near DC. Thanks for anyone that can help me out.

Smile Maryland- Any Jobs in Human Resource Field?

There are tons!!, especially with a degree in the field. If I were you I'd check the usual ".com" websites: monster, computerjobs even opm.gov (yes the government needs HR too!).

Then if those don't tickle your fancy try some of the larger name corporations, they could always use the help (e.g. AT&T, UPS, etc...).

Good luck in your job search!

Go to USAJOBS.gov. Search on MARYLAND-ALL (you can also search by city or metro area). Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia are absolutely crawling with U.S. Government agencies, which have HR departments. Note that your salary will depend not just on your Master's degree but also on your experience--although changing (due to the new National Security Personnel System--NSPS, which is replacing the old General Schedule system), seniority of others plays a big part in determining what you start out with.

EDIT: Not all agencies are affected by NSPS...DoD is one that has started with it. I believe EPA is also another one. Basically NSPS is a "pay for performance" system, so other agencies might use something similar, if not NSPS per se.

Good luck.
