Default Home Security Systems in Howard County

We are looking for a home security system for our new home. Friends use ADT and they really like them, but ADT seems to get really bad press on the net. I guess that's expected since opinions and options vary so much. Does any body have any good or bad experience with local home security/monitoring systems in Howard county? We hear Brinx and Guardian are the other big ones around here.

I've used Vector Security for my house in Howard County. They have reaonable rates and very good customer service.
