Default Village Towns (Ryan Development) in Elkridge, MD

Hi,

My wife and I are about to purchase a home in the Ryan Homes development "Village Towns" in Elkridge, MD. It is off Port Capital Dr on RT.1. I just wanted to see if anyone out there is currently living there or has heard anything on the experience there. Your insight is appreciated.

Thanks!

If you have not googled Ryan Homes, then I strongly encourage you to do so before you sign the dotted line.

My husband and I looked at all the Ryan homes in the area and we were briefly enticed by their 'low' prices - however there is a lot to be chewed on when considering their homes.

Also with the sudden economic downturn I think the overhaul of the Elkridge Rt. 1 area has been shelved. Granted it is still Howard County - but if you keep looking you can find an older, better built townhome in Ellicott City or Columbia for the same price.

Go to Zillow.com and check out the resale values of the homes there. Elkridge has wonderful homes, some may be a few years older, however you will be suprised by the re-sale value with the older vs. new....
