Prince George's usually has 150-200 murders a year. Montgomery County with roughly the same population usually has less than 2 dozen. Charles County immediately south with about 140,000 people has about 10 or so, which is an increase recently. Anne Arundel with about 500,000 had a bad year last year with about 15. I know, that's scary!! I don't wanta get shot in the head or have my child/husband be crime victims, and you just can't get around the fact that in PG County there's a much higher probability of that happening than in other surrounding DC Metro counties.

For John Charles Crawford's two little girls, Father's Day will always be the day their dad was killed when he confronted a masked intruder at their home in Capitol Heights.
Crawford, 28, was shot in the head Sunday as he, his fiancee and their two daughters returned to their house in the 400 block of Zelma Avenue after watching a movie, Prince George's County police said. The fiancee noticed when they arrived just before 1:30 a.m. that their front room had been ransacked, police said.
