Default Any insight on North East or Jarrettsville or similar?

We are originally from MD but have been gone for over 5 years now. I am concerned about coming back especially because of safety, schools, and cost but my husband may have a job opportunity in Aberdeen. I have heard these two places are nice but want to get more opinions. We'd like to be less than a half hour from Aberdeen and no more than an hour from the city.

Thanks.

I lived in Jarrettsville from 1993 until 1999, still in the area, just not in Jarrettsville! Of the two locations you mentioned, I would direct you toward Jarrettsvile for an easy commute to Aberdeen and Baltimore. When I lived there I worked in the inner harbor area of Baltimore, 45 minutes door to door!

Crime does not happen in Northern Harford County! Jarrettsville is a great place to live and raise a family.

Thank you Ghart. Honestly I had never even heard of North East until I found out that was where a friend moved to. It seems like a small town which living in Hampstead before we moved and now living in a small town here in NY I have come to enjoy. What is your thought on the Jarrettsville schools specifically?

I totally agree, no worries about Jarrettsville, just the distance for the commute.

When I was living in Jarrettsville 3 of my 4 children were in college the other went to John Carroll, a private school. I do have many friends who work in the Harford County school system and they tell me the best school in Harford County is North Harford, which is the school you would be dealing with for middle and high school.

Problem schools are located in the higher population parts of the county, Aberdeen for example.
