Bachelor pad! (Baltimore, Columbia, Glen Burnie: apartment, to rent, neighborhoods)

Looking for the best place to live near BWI. Looking for night life, lots to do, close to transportation to DC for fun on weekends/grad school . . . not looking for peace and quiet/good schools. Will be looking for apartment to rent, but right now my main concern is what is the best place to live for a young professional starting a career? Want to live where there is action and easy to make new friends, but don't want a long commute to BWI . . . would it be Elkridge, Hanover, Linthicum, or Glen Burnie? These seem to be the closest towns to BWI. If there is a better town a little farther out please let me know . . . thanks!

You'd be bored to death in the suburbs you just mentioned above. Try looking at the Mt. Vernon area, Federal Hill,Fells Point and Canton areas in Baltimore City. Mt. Vernon and is served by the light rail and the MARC train which can take you to DC and BWI while Fells Point, Federal Hill and Canton offer easy access to I 95. All three of the neighborhoods I just mentioned are full of young professionals and have plenty of night life.

I assume it will be more expensive to live in Baltimore, which is why I was concentrating on the suburbs, at least until I would find a roommate to share expenses. What about Columbia, Pasadena or Severn?

Unfortunately, all the places you are mentioning are more family-oriented and don't have much of a night life unless you like neighborhood bars with one pool table and a juke box (except possibly Columbia). Baltimore, price wise, is probably comparable to most of the suburbs you mentioned.
