Default Catonsville and Marriottsville Information

Spent the entire weekend looking in the Millersville/Severna Park/Arnold area and Columbia/Ellicott City area and frankly had a little sticker shock moving from Richmond, VA

We have seen some houses we like in Catonsville and Marriottsville as well, which seem to be two totally different areas.

I may be wrong, but I understand the schools are decent in both areas which is important, but I would really appreciate any information from Maryland residents on pros/cons of the two areas. Will there be significant traffic going from either to Elkridge or BWI?

Thanks in advance!!

Both areas are nice with decent schools. Marriotsville is more rural, Catonsville is more of a suburb of Baltimore, and therefore much closer to BWI, Elkridge, and Baltimore. Catonsville is an old town with many old style homes...Marriotsville has more newer construction, as it was primarily a farm/agricult. area 25-30 years ago. Traffic is a drawback in this area, regardless of the specific neighborhood you commute from. The worst traffic areas are around D.C. and northeast of Baltimore City. Good Luck.
