BEST California rolls in Howard or Montgomery county? (Columbia, Rockville: buying, restaurants)

Hi there!

Can you recommend a restaurant that makes a good California Roll? I've been buying the pre-packaged ones at Costco which are pretty good but I would love to try a fresher version Howard and Montgomery counties are most accessible to me but I'm willing to travel!

Just about any good Japanese restaurant (or Chinese) will make a good Cali roll. There's nothing raw in there - so the biggest variable is the rice prep. And if they can't get that right... they wouldn't be there for long.

For as far as a good Japanese restaurants - I second firefightermom's suggestions and add Sushi King in Columbia, the sushi place in The kentlands in G-burg (sorry, forgot the name).

Then there are the sushi buffets - Hinode in Rockville and Sushi Chalet in G-Burg comes to mind.... the cali rolls are good. But as all sushi buffets go.....you give up freshness for the price.
