It may depend on the city, the highway, or the police.

In Arizona, all speed cameras are set to trip 11 MPH above the posted speed limit.

Whoever owns the car gets the ticket and gets to pay it. lucky you.

No points on license.

This is pure revenue generation, as PsychoFan put it, by the counties. I agree that the presence of a speed camera will make you consciously ease up on the gas pedal but we should all just drive defensively and then there would be very few accidents and the local/county/state govt can get yet another one of their fingers out of our collective pots (i.e., wallets).

It was somewhere on Route 97...my GPS took me a different way home than I was used to and I decided to try it. I am not familiar with the area so all I know is it was a 30 mph zone somewhere in MC. Oh well, I have moved out of the area so I don't have to worry about it. I just paid the ticket to be done with it.

I know that there is a speed camera on Georgia Avenue (Rt. 97) just as you are entering Olney from the south, so that may be it. And it is placed in an area where the speed limit drops from 50 to 40 to 30 rather quickly.

If I hadn't been warned about it by someone who lives near there, it definitely would have gotten me when I traveled up that way.
