Default Commute from germantown to Frederick

Considering a job in Frederick but would like to live in Germantown, any idea how long the commute would be?

Should be 30 minutes tops. You'll be going against the rush hour traffic.

No problem. You will be going against traffic. You might end up spending more time getting onto and off of I-270 than you will on it. But I agree with cutgarden half hour max on a normal day.

Provided you work daytime hours, it should be easy. Depending on where you live/work, it could even be as quick as 20 min. The only hangup might be some construction work just north of Rt. 109, that they tend to do during off hours, i.e. your opposite-direction commute times.

There is a long-term plan to address the congestion on I-270 betw. Frederick & Montgomery counties, that may include building toll lanes or some other option. If & when that happens, it could also be an impact. But for now, no problem.

My mom commutes from Germantown to Frederick (FMH) and she says it takes her about 20 min on I-270. She gets to flly past all the Southbound commuters stuck it bumper-to-bumper traffic.
