Please provide a budget so we can better point you in the right direction... Also how close to the city do you want to live?

Do you have a job yet? Teaching jobs are hard to come by throughout MD... I would say PG county has more teacher openings than other places but you have to stay away from certain areas... I would see if you could find a job with PG public schools and go from there... Either way on a teachers salary you are looking at a studio apartment anywhere in MD, maybe a 1 bedroom if you want to stretch it...

I think it depends on whether you want to rent something or buy something. If you are looking to rent then you can find affordable 1 bedrooms in PG, Montgomery and Anne Arundel counties. All would keep you close to both Baltimore and DC. If you are looking to purchase then you are likely to find PG the most affordable. Good luck with the move.

OOH! Please come teach at our school: University Park Elementary School in P.G. County. You'll be able to rent an affordable apartment close by (University Town Center has some fancy ones) and you'll be really close to the metro.

I have to say though, the really great shopping is about a 15-20 minute drive.
