Question Apartment in Towson, Versailles vs. Promenade

Hi..
I'm moving to Towson with my boyfriend and will start working at Sheppard Pratt hospital this Summer. Since I live in Hawaii, it's hard to go there to actually look at different apartments and hope that someone might be able to help us out by giving some feedbacks or suggestions to help us make decision.

My choices are now narrowed down to the apartment complex, the Versailles and the Promenade, which is due to open Aug 1, right when I get there.

For the Versailles, the pro are - more home-like feeling with mature trees, good lighting, cheaper, gas stoves

Con - older apt, ?recent review of crime in the area/less secured, further from stores and malls, too close to the hospital

For Promenade
Pro - it's brand new (or that might be con), closer to malls, probably safer

Con- might be too apartment like, somewhat more expensive, no gas stove

Any comments would be very appreciated.
