Hi, This is my first time ever posting so bear with me. My husband is taking a job for approx. 3 years in Owings Mill and we will be renting an apartment for that time. We live at the beach in So.Cal and don't plan on selling here but we will be commuting (him-3 weeks there, 1 week home, me-2 weeks there 2 weeks here for the kids and grandkids) My question--I want a fun place in a safe, pretty neighborhood with shopping. Cost is not a problem (the company is helping out there). I'm retired and am looking forward to this being an adventure on the East Coast. Thank you.

Terri, I don't know much about Owings Mills, but Westminster / Finksburg area is very pretty, rural, safe, and it's 20 mins. from OM. Westminster has a decent Main St. with little shops, and OM is huge with malls and stuff. I'm sure there's also nice neighborhoods right close to OM, so good luck with everything!

I agree that Westminster is nice, but if you are used to a big city or just want activities and shopping like you said, closer to Owings Mills fits that better.

Also, try Reisterstown- about 10 mins from Owings Mills, I lived there 3-4 years ago and there were a few up and coming townhouse/apartment complexes there.
