Community or private pool clubs in Silver Spring area? (Bethesda: hotels, neighborhood)

Hello...

My husband and I will be relocating to the Colesville section of Silver Spring in July and it will be my first summer that I will be more than a twenty minute drive to the beach...

We are hoping that we can find a great either public or private swim or pool club that is clean, somewhat affordable (<$500 for the two of us for the summer?) and reasonably close.

Any suggestions? I know that there is no beach, per se, but are there lakeshores or swimming areas that anyone can suggest in the area that are clean and safe?

You could also check local hotels, as there are some that will let you use their pool for a nominal fee per visit (somewhere in the $10-30 range I would guess).

I also would be curious to know where there are good public/private pools in the Silver Spring/Bethesda/Chevy Chase area.

I am more looking for a place to relax by the pool outside, rather than a pool to swim laps...

You may also want to check out the Adelphi pool, located just a couple miles from Silver Spring. Lots of nice families from our neighborhood go there.

It's in kind of an odd area, very safe (we've never had ANY incidents at the pool) but it's located near a cemetary, an older neighborhood, and the Beltway. So, to look at it on a map it looks sort of in a funny place. But it is a wonderful, family oriented pool that is so big, it never seems crowded.
