Info on MacArthur MS in Anne Arundel County (North East: health insurance, middle schools)

Hello,

I'm supposed to interview at this MS Tuesday next week (6/9) and would like any info about it. Have checked it out online - mixed reviews tending toward negative. School is on Ft Meade base but draws from all over the area. If anyone has personal experience with it or knowledge about it that would be very helpful before the interview.

I teach in AA County. Unless you are going to teach the gifted/talented classes there, I would stay away from that school.

I would be teaching Spanish - from reading the online reviews at greatschools.com it sounds like a really tough place. Which schools (HS/MS) would you recommend and which not? What about Old Mill HS? Thanks for your reply.

Old Mill would be a lot better than MacArthur. I am very shocked that they are hiring outside of the employees already in the county. The elementary schools are are losing at least 2 teachers because of funding. They are supposed to have jobs- but they would have to move to middle schools. If you do get hired, we are going to be facing furlough days and higher health insurance premiums.

Had the interview yesterday - not impressed with MacArthur at all - Old Mill was better. Thanks for the heads up. What can you tell me about North East HS? Just got contacted by them today to do a phone interview by Friday. Thanks for any info.

Northeast is much better than the other two schools. It is a nice high school compared to the other two schools that you mentioned. I hope you get the job there.
