Talking Nurse thinking of relocating to Harford County

Hi - I am a PA Oncology nurse relocating to Harford County. I'm so undecided on the best area for me. I am in late 30's, and single and dont want to live in a college town yet dont want to be surrounded by developments and tons of families.
Thinking of working at the city hospitals but am also looking into community hospitals wherever I end up.
So what do you all think who live in MD...is Fallston nice? or BelAir?
And what about single life in MD....what are some good groups to join if your into hiking, biking and art? Aprreciate the advice

Default Bel Air is nice.

Bel Air is a nice area to live. There are a fair number of families though. It does have a decent night life for a suburban county. There are several pubs on Main street that provide entertainment options. There are several apartment/condo communities near downtown Bel Air and there are commuter buses (like charter buses) that run from the area into downtown (and to Hopkins Hospital). If you're interested in that type of housing, it can be convenient since you don't have to worry about lawn maintenance etc. (My wife and I love our townhome condo, but are moving out of Bel Air at the end of this month because of my job.) The buses are fairly convenient and my wife loves using them. Fallston is just the next area over, but from what I know of it, it is even more family-oriented than Bel Air with largely single-family homes.

Hi,
Bel Air and Fallston are both nice. Fallston is more of a single-familiy home kind of place and probably would not fit your life-style as a single person much. It is great if you have a family and are looking to live in a big house with a big lot. I couldn't really imagine any singles living there.
Bel Air has kind of a little of everything. Should you end up working in the city, you might also consider Abingdon since it is closer to I95 and there are also many housing options. It is really close to Bel Air (5mins) but not quite as busy.
