Default Commute from Davidsonville

We are thinking of relocating to the Davidsonville, MD area and are worried about the commute. My wife and I both work in downtown DC. How long would the commute be (we both leave for work around 6:30)? I have heard that Rt. 50 can get pretty backed up. Is Central Ave. any better or how about moving further south (i.e. Lothina) and comming in on R. 4? Thanks.

Its a hellacious commute. RT 50 gets pretty crazy starting at 5:00 am. You could always drive to the Metro in New Carrolton and split the difference.

My advice is to try it before moving there. Spend the night in Annapolis, get up, and drive into DC.
