Severna Park does fall within the approach pattern to BWI, however the planes are still several thousand feet up. You can hear them, but the noise isn't very disruptive.
It isn't like the Southgate part of Glen Burnie where the planes are low enough that you can see the passengers from the ground or Hanover, which is due west of the takeoff runway.
