Default Large Cemeteries?

I have a friend coming up, and she likes to tour cemeteries. So I was hoping to find a rather large one, relatively close (like an hour drive or so) to the Annapolis area, but preferably in a less city-ish area. Something with mausoleums, and statues would be pretty cool.

And I was hoping for a place where they might not mind letting people walk around at night.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The most fantastic cemetery in Maryland is probably Green Mount Cemetery. It's in a dicey area of Baltimore but once inside, you will be thankful you visited. Some of the sculpture work and other works of art are unbelievable. It would be a shame if she missed it just because it is in a "city". Suggestion: DO NOT GO AT NIGHT. Early in the morning is the best time and I think they have tours although I have never taken one. Also, many notables are here including all three guys who plotted and killed Abe Lincoln.

Although not large at all, there is also Edgar Allen Poe's burial site in downtown Baltimore near the U of M. Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore - Baltimore - Poe's Memorial Grave

There is also the Antietam National Cemetery which is a very interesting part of the battlefield. It is a national park.

And... the Mt. Auburn Cemetery has a rich history as the only place where African-Americans in Maryland could be buried at one time.
