Need opinions/info on Deale, MD (and soon!) (Annapolis, Chesapeake Beach: hotel, buying a house)

I'm hoping I can find someone out there who will have some information about Deale, MD. I'm looking for info regarding community sports for kids, shopping, elem. and middle school, public places to go with kids (parks, swimming, fishing, etc.) and any other info I may need to know before making an offer on a house there. Thanks so much for your help!

What I recall about Deale was it was a popular place for boat slips for people who didn't want to store their stuff all the way in Annapolis. Don't know much about the schools and living there. Most of the homes looked nice but off the main roads.

Thanks for the reply. I just hope it has more to offer than boat slips and charter fishing. I don't know how else to find out more info...can't seem to find a web address for chamber of commerce or for any community organizations. I'll keep trying.

Did you end up buying in Deale? I am in the same "boat", thinking about buying a house in Deale but I can't find much information on things to do around there. I know there's a public pier but can't find a public beach or swimming pools.

Deale is a sleepy little waterfront community. It's not really a town in some much as a bunch of old houses and a few subdivisions. There are no public beaches or swimming pools. Shopping is nearly non existent save for a grocery store, a hardware store and a few restaurants. If you don't boat, crab or fish, then there's little to do.

You might want to visit Chesapeake Beach, MD, some miles more to the south, which is more of a walkable town with a new pier/ boardwalk, a community little theater, a small grocery or two, an elementary school, an organized government, a new resort hotel, and a water splash park.
