you are talking down about pg and i am talking about other areas in pg that are way better and have middle to upper to rich in the other areas such as Bowie, Upper Marlbor,Clinton,Fort Washington,Brandywine,Accrokee. You are the sam eon who goes to one of the best univestity in the state which is in pg county and you are saying all of pg county is 100% bad but I am listing areas that are way better then College park and you are listing areas that we know are either on the same level or worst then college park. I am talking about the other nice areas that people donot recognize and been good areas all everyone talk about are the bad areas. Instead of talking about the bad areas why not talk about the good areas in pg county. And if the county is so bad why the hell are you living in the county and attending the university thats in the county which gets recognize in the country. You just need something to talk about please I would never live or attend school in a area that i claim to be bad. You are just flip flopping.
Since you like comparing other areas in pg to College park why not compare college park to th enicer areas in pg county.

Iscalder, I'm here because of in-state tuition, though I am very proud of my school. And I live on the campus, which is separate from the surrounding county. The campus is self-contained and the police actually check all vehicles entering campus after midnight. I feel safe when I am inside the campus itself, not when I leave. My real home is in Potomac in Montgomery County. But yes, PGC manifests itself on campus too, like the workers in teh dining halls who mess up my order becaue they are probably illegal aliens and can't speak English, and yes there is crime sometimes.
To your credit I've heard PG County gets better in its rural areas approaching Anne Arundel or Charles counties. I've actually heard that Fort Washington is very ghetto along with Capitol Heights, District Heights, etc. You have to understand that from the perspective of myself and my friends from MOntgomery, Frederick, Washington, Carroll, Baltimore, Anne Aurndel , Queen Annes, Garrett and Harford counties even Laurel and Bowie are considered ghetto though people from PG County claim they are nice.
You can call me biased if you wish and say the same about my friends and family, but if we go somewhere and see trash everyone on the crowd, people walking around in thug clothes or nobody speaking English, to us its ghetto and we're not comfortable.

Sweet heart what is wrong with you there are so many people in pg that can afford to live in Potomac but choose not too. Pg County has lawyers, judge, Doctors, business owners and very educated people living in the county. No matter where you go there are always going to be folks who cannot speak English yes they are even in Potomac. Fort Washington is ghetto what the hell is you talking about. Prices for homes in Fort Washington are expensive as a matter of fact I have yet to see a Hispanic is upper Marlboro except the folks who cut people lawn. You mention Baltimore is nicer then Pg County where the hell did you gets that from. I am a real estate investor in Baltimore and the construction guys are scared to work alone in the home due to the violence in Baltimore. Go take a look at Baltimore city and you will see. You know nothing I hope you are learning something in class because it seems to me you are learning nothing about the county you live in. You need to understand why a lot of folks like me are scared to move to areas like Potomac because the folks there pretend they are living the happy life but in reality most dads are gay or serial killers or the parents or kids are on meth. See talk now but I have so happy the suburbs have been introduce to what’s ruining the suburbs today which is Meth. So that’s what these white politicians are scared of to see the suburbs folks become nothing and they are scared meth will destroy white suburbs but just like when crack hit the inner city and destroy it Meth is 3times worse.

Where in Lauel and Bowie are you speaking of? Again as I said there are nice areas in Laurel and there some shady looking both white and black people sometimes but it depends where you are. You aren`t going to see them in a 600K and up Neighborhood in Laurel and i you do they live there. Just that they are black and we know how or when a white person sees a black dude looking thugest or whatever reason be it style they thnk they are in a gheto. The sometimes young kids are just emulating what they see and don`t orget the hip hop inluence. I sometimes see shady characters in Bethesda and Georgetown road and that`s Montgomery county. You want them to look liek rock stars? I guess that`s why you guys are losing your women to the brothers. Sorry or the low blow son. Lol.

Enough of the nonsense. People don't like PG County for countless reasons.
It is not a very good area to live in. If you live in PG County send your kids to a private school. Crime is a problem. Compare it's murder rate to every other county in the state. Compare the crime rate in general. Compare the schools.
The facts show the truth.

Ft. Washington is nothing like Capitol Heights, District Heights... At all! It may not be the nicest but it ain't like those places... And yes, sadly UMCP has a lot of crime (ex-campus police employee!) but everyone who commits a crime on campus is not from PGC and is not black.

Wow, I just have one question for you? Okay, if you live in Potomac, Maryland and you want us to assume you're upper class or rich, why are you so concerned with paying in-state tuition at an average state school? like UMD?? (In state tuition prob runs you less than 20k for four years?)) I mean let's be honest if money is not an issue why bring up the fact you are at UMD for "in-state tuition." Hell, my parents dropped the big 100k on my four year Education here in the Northeast, but i'm not calling people ghetto. You're definitely not "living the dream" if your parents are worried about how much your education is going to cost haha. That seriously tickles me in just the right place. Other than that I have nothing constructive to add to the board at this time, but this is by far the most interesting board.
