Question Help Please Will be moving over to the Maryland Ft. Dietrick area.

We will be moving there in a few months. My husband and I need an apartment for the time being. The rent needs to reasonable I think ranging from 600 - 900 is good. A 2 bedroom would be good. Pool. Playground. Nice parking lot. Garbage disposal would be nice. I would prefer it to have washer and dryer connections. I hate having to go back and forth with laundry. Umm would like it to be in a kid friendly community we have one toddler. Also it would be nice to be close to grocery stores, nice resturants, entertainment type place for both adults and children. Oh and if anyone has any recommendations for a good daycare close by would be convenient too. I myself would like to know of any good employment agencies or job recruiters for a IT person. I know its a lot but any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated!!

I don't think you are going to find a 2 BR apt that cheap even without all those amenities.

I live in Frederick, less than 5 miles from Ft. Dietrick. I don't think you are going to find what you are looking for that cheap either. We live in a great apartment complex, but it's not in the price range you are looking for.

RubyRed,

I see you're former military, is your spousal unit still in the Army? If so, the on-post housing situation at Fort Detrick is quite good. I suggest you look into post housing if you're eligible.

Rents in Frederick are very steep.

I lived across from Ft. Detrick for 8 years. You are not going to find anything, I believe at the 600 dollar range for rent in Frederick unless you are renting a room/rooms in someone's house. 900 - probably something out there but I have no idea where in Frederick that would be located. Could be near the base, could be on teh other side of the city (not that Frederick is that huge but Rt. 355/Market Street can become a nightmare during commuting times, believe it or not - and then there is the whole Rt. 70/270/15/355 interchange mess that was started when I first moved up there in 2000 and is STILL not finished. . .).

Try this website and see if anything fits your budget. Frederick is a suburb/ex-burb of Wash DC - it is not a cheap place to live.

good luck!

rubyred - I don't know if there are any daycare's nearby, however this is where we live and we are happy. I see several ft. deitrick parking stickers in the parking lot too.
