Well, you could also say the majority of the crime in PG County comes from SE DC.
I do know that wealthy PG County residents have been flocking to Charles, which has skyrocketed it's median income. Charles now has the 9th highest median income in the country for small counties (population 65,000-250,000). Neighbouring Calvert Country has the 2nd highest median income for small counties, after only Hunterdon County in NJ.

I don't think crime in Charles will ever be as bad as it was in PG.

So I guess Lansdowne & Sterling are different places. Unless there's a murder in Lansdowne, in which case that part of Lansdowne is actually Sterling, but the corporate part is still safe.
Thanks for clearing everything up.

Your own link [the 2nd one] shows the murder happened at the intersection of Rocky Creek and Riverside. That's just northwest of the Lansdowne CORPORATE RESORT. Google Map it and you'll see...
The whole reason the area around the Corporate Training Center is also called Lansdowne, is to build on that positive image: To provide a safe and upscale place to live. That's the reason the people around there are so shocked - this type of crime is just not supposed to happen in such places. That whole area has some very expensive homes, with continuing residential and commercial development.
The area is not Sterling, nor is it within the city limits of Leesburg. It's in Lansdowne, which is why the article said there was a murder in Lansdowne. And the name "Lansdowne" springs from the original Corporate Resort. It was there before any of the development you see there now.

Again, this crime has nothing to do with the "corporate getaway." Get over it.
