We are preparing to do a housing search and have basically singled out the the Severna Park area. But, what about Crownsville and Arnold?

How are the schools, neighborhoods, shopping, etc?

Thanks,
Frank

Arnold is nice and the schools are good. Traffic can be bad on rt2 though.

Crownsville is easier to get to off rt97, but the schools aren't as good.

btw....everybody wants Severna Park because of the schools which keeps the home prices very high.

I would suggest Crofton, MD. Up and coming area. Much more reasonable than SP. Also, the home values have maintained their value while other areas have seen a decline. Crofton is the up and coming area with new retail, etc. Good place to raise a family

Crownsville has great water access (Arden on the Severn Community has five community beaches, along with boat ramps) all for extremely reasonable annual fees. Unlike Severna Park or Crofton, it does not get bogged down in traffic (having lived in Crofton, the Rt. 3 traffic is a bear and Severna Park is little better with Benfield Rd. and Rt. 2).
