I think I learned that in 2nd grade english. You probably didn't bother to read the article. Or if you did, you ignored it because the kids profiled don't fit your limited view of that community.

Last month you were looking for singles in Columbia. A month later you've already met someone whose family lives in Palmer Park, you've visited Palmer Park once, and you're an expert on all the kids who live there. Please...

Again, you don't live here - don't worry about it.

What does me moving out to columbia and looking for singles have to do with anything? So what?Im seeing somebody now that has ties to Palmer Park? Your the first person Ive met that defends palmer park, so Im beginning to wonder. I could understand if it was Largo, or somehwere semi-nice, but if you dont think its a hellhole, you prob never been in there, or you just quickly googled that article to shove it in my face. I know what I know, and saw what I saw. People tell me what goes down in there, and I've met several folks from college that live in the PP/Landover/Glenarden vicinity and they detest it 100%. Good for those kids that are doing something positive, but you and I both know thats only a small fraction of children that live in that community.

And it doenst matter if I live there or not, Ill still voice my opinion so I could really care less about what you have to say.....

You painted a picture of every child in Palmer Park standing on the corner with a 40 and a pipe. That's unfair and dehumanizing. What I did was post an article that showed you another side of the story. I don't consider that defending the criminal element in Palmer Park. And no, I didn't google the article. I save every positive story I read about PGC because there are so many people like you out there who make ignorant, blanket statements. So thank you for giving me the opportunity to pass along something positive about the children there.

I'm from Palmer Park and let me tell you it's garbage compared to when I grew up there. It was never great and we had our own problems, but there was still a sense of community, family and hope that I no longer see in the younger generations.

I've lived in PGC for 30 years so I know about the crime in Palmer Park. But isn't there at least one problem in Howard or Anne Arundel counties that you guys can focus on? I read the other day that drug use in suburban high schools is at an all-time high. There might be some of that going on there.

Well sure there are tons of problems in Anne Arundel, Howard and everywhere else in Maryland and the rest of America. However, these problems are just in a higher number in PG. In response to the drug use I believe that statement is correct. I remember hearing a teacher in Howard County was selling pot and other drugs to students.

I really can't believe all the terrible things that I'm reading about Prince Georges County! Prince Georges is one of the riches counties in the United States and is continously growing, daily.

One thing I have noticed about the media is that a lot of them live in Montgomery County and Virginia and they are not going to downplay their own neighborhoods. I listen to them talking about their drive into work from the areas that they leave. Reports of their neighborhoods would bring down the property value of their homes.

I'm not saying that Prince Georges County does not have problems/crime, but all of the other areas do also, its just not reported majority of the time within the media. Don't be fooled!! There are some CRAZY and UNSTABLE folks in Montgomery Co. and Virginia, as well as in Prince Georges, but I guess the media can't report on all crimes so they just pick Prince Georges County to veiw as a negative place. And trust me, I am aware that there are some media folks that live in Prince Georges as well, but not the majority.

Also another thing I have often wonder about, why is it when a white person commits a crime, the media often reports the person as having mental problems or try to give reasoning for them committing the crime, but when it's a black person they are referred to as thugs, criminals, etc. Just a thought!

In conclusion.....Prince Georges is a beautiful place to live and raise a family.

I hate commenting on negative comments so all I can say is what a lot of us that live here and love it here say, If you do not like it then do not come here, for any reason, we have enough problems in our lives and communities than to have people come just to bash it. If I detested a place soooooo much, I really wouldn't have anything to say about it, why because I wouldn't care! Please do us all a favor and comment on something that is going on in your own neighborhoods. This really should not have been 25 pages of non sense.

Thanks and God Bless!
