Default need help relocating to maryland with young kids

Hi

We are starting our search to relocate to the Maryland area from a suburb outside of NYC. We are looking for a better quality of life for our family. We are looking for towns with young families since we have a 4 and 2 yr olds. Our price range is $400-600. Some towns that were recc'd to us were Severna Park, Ellicott City, Edgewater and Annapolis. My husband is a hedge funds investor and I am a special ed teacher. We are looking for communities with similiar backrounds. I was wondering if anyone had some thoughts about those towns mention to us or any other suggestions...thanks so much for your help!!!

Debbie

Out of those I'd recommend Ellicott City = Howard County = very good schools and the wealthiest county (median household income) in the state per capita & 2nd in household income (next to Montgomery) and among the top 10 in the country. The other towns listed are in Anne Arundel County.

Also, Ellicott City has been named high in best places to live. Best places to live 2008 - Top 100 City details: Ellicott City, MD - from MONEY Magazine

Since you're coming from New York, I'd imagine you mean a $400-600k house, right? Some people come to this forum from cheaper places expecting to pay $600.00/month for an apartment...
