Default Living in Clarksburg...any opinions?

We are considering relocating to Maryland suburbs and wanted to hear advice/opinions on Clarksburg, MD?
Is it safe? We are looking for a nice community to raise our family.

Yes, still small town and rural looking but developing. Even look into Ijamsville also (sp).

Clarksburg appears to be very safe. I've heard of a few car breaks-ins here and there... It appears that the owners either left the doors unlocked and or left merchandise visible in the vehicles.

Clarksburg Village and Aurora Hills are definitely family oriented subdivisions! If you have little ones or school aged children this is a great community for them. HTH

Just visited there for the same reason -moving to MD soon.

Nice new houses, townhouses, and condos, but nothing else! no grocery stores, restaurants, etc. They are planning a town center that has been in conflict for a couple of years. They finally agreed on a location and layout. It'll take at least another 3 to 5 yrs for that.

Also, the houses are all zero-scape - no backyards and only small patches of front. That was a little weird for me, but others might love it.

That is true, the lot's are pretty small and there isn't a shopping center right there. But Milestone Shopping center is less than 4 1/2 miles away so it isn't terribly far. It's true suburban living There is a Subway, pizza shop, credit union, and liquor store at the corner of Fredrick road and Stringtown Road. Last time I was over in that area it looked like there was a coffee shop that was close and maybe a dry cleaners? Hopefully in the next couple of years or sooner we'll have a grocery store close by.
