Wow, I haven't been to a Po Folks since I was about 8. I had to look it up. It still exists! http://www.pofolks.com/. They served sweet tea in mason jars

A very creative graffiti artist once made a lifelong impression on my wife and I. On the outer loop of 495 just past Silver Spring where the Mormon Tabernacle comes into view is a railraod bridge. The bridge sort of frames the steeples of the church from above for a few seconds while driving. One day as we were driving through there, we noticed in black letters on the side of the bridge, "Surrender Dorothy."

There's a funeral home in Sykesville, MD that is owned by someone with a hyphenated name. The name is Burrier-Queen.

I get a kick out of that sign everytime I see it.
Yes, "Ausfarht" IS fun to say...

Years ago, I was stationed in CA with a guy from Beecher, IL He told us that a local butcher shop had the name "Beecher Meat". I never verified it but he seemed like a straight-shooter...

Here in Dayton, OH, Needmore Road is one of the major thoroughfares. A drive thru beverage store calls itself: "Needmore Beer Drive Thru"

This reminds me of the weird town names... Accident, Boring

Or even better in PA - Blueball, Intercourse. There's a saying my mom always thought was funny going through PA - "You have to go through Blueball and Intercourse before you get to Paradise (yet another town in PA)"

scoutsadie is on a distinguished road
When my husband and I honeymooned on the Big Island of Hawai'i a few years ago, we got a kick out of a road sign on one of the highways that read "Donkey crossing"... it was just really odd to be driving down one of the main highways on the island and to see that sign.
