Default Surprise! Move from Naperville IL to Maryland...Need advice

My husband has been transferred and will be in the Calverton area in about a month. We currently live in Naperville IL which is a family-oriented suburb of chicago, but quite large in it's own right. Great downtown, food, shopping, Stay at home mom activities. Good news is that we have already sold here.

But, we have no idea where to begin in MD. Will be commuting to Calverton, but have heard good things about Annapolis, Columbia, Ellicott City, Laurel and Odenton. Overall impressions of these areas would be wonderful!!!

We are looking to rent since this will be temporary with a budget up to $3K a month (we have a 10 month old too)
Thanks!

Fulton and Clarksville are just north of Calverton in Howard County and are reputable communities.

gibberish- I know about Naperville!! I heard about it from watching that reality show about female police officers! haha

Well I live in Beltsville which is very close to Calverton. Route 29 is VERY close to Calverton. Calverton is actually also a nice residential town/it boarders Mont. and PG county.

I live in Annapolis and think it is the best place in Maryland. Nothing against other towns and cities, but we prefer it here. I feel safe, enjoy the downtown area, and the overall feel. Hate the traffic, but pick in city in Maryland and ya got lotsa traffic.
