Default Deep Creek Lake, MD (Need Honest Opinions for Possible Vacation)

Hi All,

I'm a Maryland resident, contemplating a trip to Deep Creek this December. Haven't decided if this will be a couples' weekend or a family trip with the kids, but in either event, all parties in attendance are black. For those that either live or are familiar with the Deep Creek area, how racially tolerant is the community? Is it a diverse population? Or, at the very least, are the tourists comprised of a diverse population?

Any insight would be helpful. If this turns into a couples' weekend, I really don't have too much of a problem if we get the occassional stare (or even comment). We're all adults and can handle it...I just don't want to expose my children to any possible racism if we decide to make this a family trip.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Thanks very much for your response! I'm always SUPER nervous about traveling anywhere outside of metro areas, so this is a relief to know.

Why on earth are you nervous about traveling outside the metro area?
