Default Aspen Park(Pasadena)

While online I have found some nice townhouses for sale in the Aspen Park area of Pasadena. Is that a nice area? The townhouses are priced around $250,000. are they worth the price? Any info that you can give me would be a great help. I am not very familiar with the area . How are the schools in that area ? Would it be a nice place to raise a family?
TIA

Hi, I have been a resident of Aspen Park for 4 years. As always, there are pros and cons to everywhere we live. Aspen Park is no different. I think the homes themselves inside are spacious and I do love the layout. Our court is also a pretty close group (although I think we just lucked out on that one). There are two major cons to living here, one a lot more major than the other that being the school situation. First, let me say from my experiences, I am not a fan of Maryland public education overall. With that being said, the school district is not located in Pasadena, it is in a neighboring community of Glen Burnie and has a reputation for being a school that is not really up to par with what most of us would consider as acceptable. I do wish the best for that school, I hate having to sound like I'm being prejudice against socio-economical classes that are different that mine, I am not doing that. But we all want our kids to have the best resources we can provide for them. So, if you can afford private education, that solves your problem. The next problem is the HOA. To be fair, they are a primarily silent and fair organization always on time with mowing the common grounds and taking care of pest control and snow removal all great. However, the HOA has a contract with a towing company. This towing company is allowed to take upon itself to interpret and enforce the law by towing your car EVEN in spots that are NOT clearly marked no parking and the towing company tows on technicality, making me think its all about profits and even makes me think the HOA is getting kickbacks. To answer your questions specifically, yes I love raising my family in this community. We have two playgrounds, its a pet friendly area, and I feel safe letting my son play outside with his friends. Also, the homes themselves are ABSOLUTELY worth the price. Once I get things solved with the HOA, and since my kid is already in private school, I am definitely a happy camper.
