2. Hmm, never heard of a Potomac Police Dept, or a McLean Police Dept., or a Bethesda Police Dept., or a Great Falls Police Dept. or a Chevy Chase Police Dept. or a Vienna Police Dept.

Why would PG residents want to pay more taxes than they need to already?

Don't contradict yourself. If Bowie residents felt safe, they wouldn't need to pay taxes for more police help.
2. Here is an example: City of Fairfax, Police Department Why does Fairfax need its own police department? Are you saying that Fairfax is unsafe?

Tell me when you find police departments in McLean, Great Falls, Potomac, Bethesda, and Chevy chase....yes, upscale areas like "upscale" Bowie.

McLean, Great Falls, Potomac, and Bethesda are not incorporated cities/towns. They have no mayor, city council, dept of public works, etc and therefore do not have their own police departments either.

Seems like August was a busy month in Bowie.

Fairfax is as "upscale" as Bowie. Perhaps even more upscale. Bowie is not in the same league as those areas you mentioned. By the way, those areas are just that, areas. They are not cities. Fairfax is the closest comparison. So, I ask again: Is Fairfax unsafe because it has its own police force?

Check the police reports for August 09.

Seems like less activity in Fairfax City compared to Bowie. Bowie wins hands down when it comes to assault, overall theft, vandalism, and theft from auto. No wonder car insurance is so much higher in PG Cty.

That's irrelevant to my question. I'm not surprised Bowie has more crime than Fairfax. Why, then, does Fairfax need its own police force?

It probably doesn't, because its crime pales in comparison to Bowie's.
